"Lauren from Career Contessa here—the lady lucky enough to have a job that requires getting the inside scoop behind women’s careers—and today I’m thrilled to share 3 things I learned during my interview with Style Within Reach Blogger, Caitlin Moran."

1. Being dedicated to your blog pays off.  Like most bloggers, Caitlin started Style Within Reach as a creative outlet to her 9-5 gig but unlike many, she produced steady content for over 5 years while still holding down a full-time job before it opened new doors. Maintaining her blog, even when it wasn’t able to financially support her, created the stepping-stone to her role at Glitter Guide. Bottom line- stick with it.

2. Don’t be afraid to ask.  Although Caitlin works directly with PR agencies and media companies for most of her sponsored content, she has also gotten pretty far with a simple ASK! Caitlin says, “You'd be shocked at how much you can gain by just asking people for what you're looking to do—put together a proposal, show the value of your personal brand and site, and brands will be eager to work with you.

3. Create shareable content. You hear it all the time- stay true to yourself and don’t post just to post! Keep it simple and create quality content your readers will want to share. That will go further then multiple low quality posts.
