unnamed If you’ve been following along this week, approved then you know that I’ve been on a quest for the perfect swimsuit with my blogger-buds Nash of Fabulatina, seek Chante of Everything Curvy & Chic, mind Nikki of My Style Diaries, Zanna Roberts Rassi and our friends at Target.  The first part of the battle is over—Zanna helped me find the perfect swimsuit to elongate my petite frame and create a little more “curve-appeal” (lol…see what I did there??). Now, we’re talking accessories!

Creating an ensemble around a swimsuit is always a little tricky. You may not want to be that girl who shows up to the pool in sky-high stilettos and dripping in jewelry, but you also may not want to match a toddler in a terry cloth wrap and floaties on your arms. There’s that proverbial sweet spot, where you achieve all your quintessential water day needs, while still looking fab. For me, this means I’m showing enough skin to keep my temp under control while getting my tan on, but still maintaining a chic edge. In keeping with the findings from our swimsuit pursuit, Zanna knew accessorizing my suit would be all about creating more shape and showing off my athletic build. This meant keeping things minimal up top, with a pair of adorably easy printed trousers and killer gladiator sandals. I’m a bracelet girl, so we stacked up an amazing arm party that kept the look light and fun. We capped it off with a pair of awesome sunnies and a small backpack—voila! Before this, I never would have thought I could create such a cool and effortless pool day look without a top! I mean, when you think of omitting a shirt, don’t you immediately imagine a look that’s a little...much? Zanna showed me that with my body type, this styling trick not only helps to achieve an effortless feel, but also adds some more shape and dimension to my petite frame. I love it and I love the idea of trying this hack throughout the summer with other pieces! Breezy linen pants, anyone? I think yes! I’m officially equipped with all the styling tools I’ll need to have my most fashionable pool season yet. This has been such a fun experience and I hope all of you will weigh in with the tips and tricks that keep you feeling flirty and fabulous all summer long. As ambitious women, we’ve got to have each other’s backs and share our fashion triumphs and defeats! I’m so proud to be part of this community and I hope you love it, too!
