Simply Stylist Chicago Recap

Chicago 2013 Recap Our first Simply Stylist Chicago event was such a hit and has revamped and motivated upcoming fashion and beauty lovers that want to work (or already work) in these industries! Our founder, discount Sarah Boyd, website aimed to “create a platform for women to come if they want to be a stylist, blogger or journalist in the industry or to simply get inspired. I’m opening up the door to get their foot in.”, and from the chic venue, the Dana Hotel and Spa, to the amazing panel and shopping event, the day could not have gone any better.

The day started off with a networking brunch for our VIP ticket holders which included speakers, celebrity stylist Marcellas Reynolds, and Ashley Torres of Hautelook. We then proceeded to the beautiful rooftop lounge where our fashion and beauty panel took place. With Catt Sadler of E! News as our host and a panel full of fashion and beauty experts, this is where mega inspiration and advice came in!

It was so encouraging listening to each of their stories and seeing how they got to where they are today. The panelists also touched on current trends along with their opinions (their truthful opinions)! A few beauty trends discussed were bold lips, bold brow, and strict skin-care regimens. The fashion topics were black & white, menswear (structured pieces), and, one of our favorites, mis-matched prints! Following this successful panel was our shopping event where the energy exploded. We had local and national brands onsite for attendees to shop, had celebrity stylist, Jacqueline Rezak, styling our VIP ticketholders, DJ Lani spinning, all with delicious cocktails and appetizers flowing! In the midst of the mingling, Simply Stylist provided mini breakout sessions during the shopping event where industry experts were able to talk and answer questions in a more intimate setting.

Simply Stylist would love to thank everyone who participated, we hope that you were inspired and encouraged to persevere on in these industries!

Inspiration to take with you …

“If you don’t wake up every day excited to go do what you’re doing then you shouldn’t be doing it… love what you do, otherwise it’s a waste of your time, creative energy and life.” Jacey Duprie, Damsel in Dior

“Be your own agent; invest in yourself and in your brand… Take yourself out of the box and start meeting people.”
